If you’re like us, you’ve probably not heard of this body of water in Ontario. That didn’t stop us from enjoying an amazing getaway on St. George’s Lake.
The lake is located in Sharbot Lake, Frontenac County. Sharbot Lake is a much larger lake, but I suspect it’s not a peaceful as St. George’s Lake. No shade against Sharbot Lake mind you…it’s just so quiet and peaceful. There are the occasional fisherman and seadoo’s, but they’re very infrequent on the lake.
So Much Rest
We spent 6 days at this Airbnb, and though I felt more rested than Sher, we both benefited from the peace and quiet that St. George’s Lake offered.
It was a beautifully decorated cottage, with amazing views, lots of shade, with its fair share of mosquitos.
But we didn’t complain. They went on the attack mostly while we were stargazing. I’m not sure I even noticed I was bitten until a couple of days later.
We didn’t explore much, aside from the business, or downtown area of Sharbot Lake, which is only minutes away.
We did try to find this lookout on Google Maps called McPherson Lookout, but alas we were unsuccessful. Seriously, I’d like to talk to whomever mapped this location. I’ve never spent so much time on backroads in my life.

I managed to film some pretty epic drone footage of the lake over the span of a few days. You can watch that here and here.
The Wrap Up
Overall, it was pretty great vacation. We would like to visit again, probably in the fall. The colours would be amazing.

Until next time…
